Mr Dancealot- The central message in this video is that Mr. Dancealot does conduct class. The students come in day after day and he teaches but yet the students do not learn anything. He tries to show them how to do the different dance moves but none of the students are able to see the professors feet to know if they are doing the moves correct. I do not agree with the conclusion of this video or the way the final exam was given. Mr. Dancealot never gave the students a chance to try and see if they could do the different dances he had previously gone over in the class.

Teaching in the 21st Century- by Kevin Roberts.
Outline of some of the arguments Mr. Kevin Roberts is attempting to make.
1) Teaching could be a lot different in the future.
2) Teachers can instruct students in a lot of different ways in the 21st century by using new and improved resources.
3) By making students use their imagination and create things on their own.
4) Learning things that could actually be used in the workplace. To better their future.
5) Knowing the difference in entertaining people and keeping them engaged.

The Networked Student- Why does the networked student even need a teacher? By Wendy Dexler. That is very good question. Technology is continuously growing. There are many different opportunities out there on the web that can help in so many different ways for learning about different subjects. I believe as technology keeps growing before we know it more than half of all classes will be internet based classes.

Harness your Students’ Digital Smarts- by Vicki Davis. In Ms. Davis’ class her students are very technical savvy. They learn many things to do online that most high school students have no clue about. This will defiantly have them more prepared for college and the work field. I completely agree with her argument and only wish I could have had a teacher like her in high school to prepare me the way she prepares her students.

Flipping the Classroom- Flipping the classroom is new to me. I do however this technique could be very useful to me as a teacher. I can see this being used all over the world for many more subject than just math as used in the example video. This will save a lot of time and also give the students more one on one time that they miss out on otherwise.

Blog #1

At the beginning of the semester I was a bit skeptical about taking EDM310. I knew it was required, but by no means was I looking forward to it. I have heard a few different things about it being hard but also quite interesting. I've also heard there are many projects and not enough time in the week to accomplish them all. Not to mention, on average about 40% of the students drop the class before mid terms. In the first class meeting I was told that I have to set aside 9 hours to complete the weekly tasks. I must admit I am a bit nervous trying to figure out how I am going to focus on 1 class for 9 hours a week. I am fearful I am not going to achieve this on a weekly basis. EDM310 is not like any other class I have ever taken in the past. With that being said, I am excited to learn new things that I am sure will help me as a teacher in the future. I think if I stay focused and optimistic over the course of the semester I will learn a lot and do well in the class. I am extremely nervous yet excited to see what the rest of the semester holds.
